  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, or rosemary)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in eggs and softened butter. Gradually add flour and salt until well combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. For the filling, melt butter in a small pan over low heat. Add minced garlic, cooking for about 2 minutes before mixing in herbs.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, brush with the garlic herb mixture, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Roll tightly into a log shape; slice lengthwise and twist together with cut sides facing up.
  7. Place in a greased baking pan and let rise again for about 30–40 minutes.
