  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp ground cloves
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup whole milk (at room temperature)
  • 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugars, baking soda, baking powder, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves until combined. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl or measuring cup, mix melted butter, milk, eggs, molasses, freshly grated ginger, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients by pouring the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes while preheating your waffle iron.
