  • 2 small yellow onions (diced and thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté diced onions until caramelized.
  3. In a large bowl, mix thawed hash browns, melted butter, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, minced garlic, flour, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, chicken broth, and milk until well combined.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
