Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (4-6 lb) turkey breast (bone-in or boneless)
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken or turkey broth
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped

Instructions

  1. Pat turkey breast dry with paper towels. If it has skin, rub seasoning under the skin for extra flavor.
  2. In a bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, rosemary, sage (if using), and lemon zest.
  3. Rub herb butter mixture over turkey breast thoroughly.
  4. Layer sliced onions, celery, carrots, and minced garlic at the bottom of the crockpot; pour in chicken broth.
  5. Place seasoned turkey breast on top of vegetables; cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. For crispy skin (optional), transfer turkey to a baking sheet and broil on high for about 4-5 minutes until browned.
  7. Let turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
